There are famous 500 of Rakan figures in Kitain temple in Kawagoe.

They are very humame figures.

We chose 13 of our favorite Rakan and paintied of them.

Those figure works looked like wood block prins, but they aren't.

We tried interesting techique.

a rakan; a Buddhist who has attained apritual release from Karuma through severe religious practice.

The bell tower

I have been living in Kawagoe over 11 years since I  moved back from Oregon. (I am still a part time resident in Eugene)

It is a very special city to live in.

Ahough I was born in Tokyo and I still miss Tokyo, it is my home town now. It has beautiful historic architectures, and good people, and good food such as fresh locally grown rice and vegetables. There are many places to do landscape paintings as you see in this slides show.

It takes 40 to 60 minutes to get Kawagoe by train from Tokyo.

I hope you have a chance to visit Kawagoe soon.
